And so our journey begins.....Cook n Craft Academy

Do you remember that movie with Kevin Costner....Field of Dreams?  One of the most memorable lines in the movie..."if you build it, they will come!"  Well we have had our own field of dreams for quite some time, and we are hoping if we build it, you will come.  I'm speaking about our newest venture, Cook n Craft Academy.  This has been a dream for a long time.  I have always wanted to be two things since I was a little girl growing up in the small town of Montclair, NJ.  I've wanted to work in television and I wanted to become a teacher.   Television came easy for me.  I studied communications at Seton Hall University and took just about every television and radio course offered.  I interned at a local station and soon after was offered a job.  As they say in show business, the rest is history.  And it's been a fabulous history.  I've had the time of my life working for some of the biggest names in television.  I've met some very amazing people, and learned so much from many of the people I've worked for including, Morton Downey jr., Sally Jessy Raphael, Richard Bey, Rosie O'Donnell, Queen Latifah, Kimora, Geoffrey Zakarian, Jeff Mauro, Katie Lee, Sunny Anderson, and Martha Stewart.
4 year old Crafty Christina (with my mom and sister Maria)  Notice she's holding a Barbie and I've got my top of the line Playskool Radio....I knew as a kid that I belonged in radio and television.

While I've enjoyed producing great informative and entertaining television, I missed the second part of my little girl wish, to become a teacher.  I suppose you could say that the segments and shows I produced were informative and so therefore indirectly I taught.  But there is nothing like that one on one experience when you can influence another and help them learn a new craft or technique.  When I worked with Martha she always said, it's important to learn something new everyday.   And when I worked with her, I did learn something new everyday--cooking techniques, crafting skills, the importance of quality over quantity, gardening tips etc.   I've decided it's time for me to go into teaching and share all the wonderful skills I've learned.  And so my husband and I have decided to open up our Cook n Craft Academy...for all ages.  So whether you're 4 or 94 we hope you will come join us and be a part of our journey and learn something new and fun!
